Filipino-Australian Youth Excellence Award 2025.

Nominations are now open for the FILCCA Filipino-Australian Youth Excellence Award 2025 which will be proudly presented at SAYA Youth Fest, Sydney. 

SAYA Youth Fest is a 1-day event on 15 February 2025 that aims to instil in the Filipino youth a love of the Philippines, its people and culture as well as provide an opportunity to enjoy the company of kababayans.

NOMINATION FOR FILCCA YOUTH EXCELENCE GUIDELINES 

The Filipino Communities Council of Australia Inc. (FILCCA) is proud to honour exceptional young individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and made significant contributions to both the Filipino and Australian communities. To celebrate their dedication and impact, FILCCA is pleased to introduce the inaugural FILCCA Youth Excellence Award

The FILCCA Youth Excellence Award will be handed out on the 15th of February at the FIlCCA Youth Gala Dinner.  

Nominations are now being accepted for the following categories:

Youth Excellence Award in Business

Young individuals who have shown exceptional entrepreneurial spirit or leadership in the business world, whether by starting a business, innovating in their field, or contributing to economic growth and sustainability.

Youth Excellence Award in Leadership

Youth who have displayed extraordinary leadership qualities, whether in school, community organizations, or other settings. These individuals inspire others and take initiative to lead positive change.

Youth Excellence Award in Community Service

Youth who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to giving back to the community. This includes those who actively volunteer, support charitable initiatives, and work to make their communities a better place.

Youth Excellence Award in Sports

  Young athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and achievements in their respective sports. Their commitment to training and excelling at the highest levels, along with their sportsmanship and teamwork, sets them apart.

Youth Excellence Award in Creative Arts and Entertainment

Youth who have shown remarkable talent and achievement in creative arts, including visual arts, music, theater, dance, or film. These individuals contribute to the cultural landscape through their artistic endeavours and creativity.

Icon of Influence Award

Youth who has demonstrated exceptional excellence, dedication, and impact within the world of social media, beauty, fashion, and pageantry. This prestigious award recognizes a person who has excelled in their respective field, whether as a titleholder, , designer, or influencer, and who has made a significant contribution to shaping trends, inspiring others, and representing the highest standards of grace, elegance, and poise.

Apart from the prestige and the community recognition, awardees are to receive.

A trophy and/or a certificate

Young individuals who have shown exceptional entrepreneurial spirit or leadership in the business world, whether by starting a business, innovating in their field, or contributing to economic growth and sustainability.

Youth who have displayed extraordinary leadership qualities, whether in school, community organizations, or other settings. These individuals inspire others and take initiative to lead positive change.

Automatic nomination to the bi-annual FilCCA Youth Achievement Award

Youth who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to giving back to the community. This includes those who actively volunteer, support charitable initiatives, and work to make their communities a better place.

Various perks and vouchers from supporting businesses and organisations

  Young athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill, discipline, and achievements in their respective sports. Their commitment to training and excelling at the highest levels, along with their sportsmanship and teamwork, sets them apart.

GENERAL CRITERIA 

Individual nominees must:

Must be under 35 years old at the time of the nomination.

Be a permanent resident or Australian citizen of Filipino descent.

 

Be of good moral standing in the community.

Have no bankruptcy attached to their name.

Have no criminal conviction with one year or more period of imprisonment.

May or not may not be a member of the state council of their area. 

SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE

The official nomination form must be completed and to include the following supporting documentations.

  A submission on nominee in no more than 2000 words.

  Evidence/support documents - academic achievements, if applicable.

 

General Achievements - degree of difficulty and sacrifices made.

Contributions and benefits to the Filipino community in Australia.

Contributions and benefits to the Australian Society.

Provide the following evidentiary support documents.

Copies of certificates, awards, etc.  

  Press clippings.

  Letters of recommendation.

Any other relevant material in support of the nomination.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:


Current members of the FILCCA Executive (elected Office Bearers) are eligible for the awards.

It is the nominator’s responsibility to ensure that all documentary evidence is included in the nomination.

 

Self-nomination is allowed. It is the responsibility of those nominating to conduct due diligence and enquiries on the validity of the nominations.

No correspondence will be entered following the decision of the panel, which is final.

Only original applications will be accepted.
